knowing Jesus

We cannot live the "abundant life" until we have life itself in Jesus Christ. Have you personally received Him, and His death on the cross, as the only payment for your sins? We need to look to God's Word to find out what God requires in order to be reconciled with Him, and have eternal life.

"...For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..." (Romans 3:23 NIV)

"For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23 NIV)

"That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9 NIV)

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV)

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NIV)

When does a gift become yours?

When you receive it!

Jesus Christ is "The Gift" that God the Father has given to the world. As a child, I believed facts about Jesus, but I didn't understand that I needed to receive Him for myself, to trust Him as my Savior, and surrender to Him as my Lord. And, I didn't understand that salvation is a gift that I must receive by faith, rather than based on my performance. I thought God had a giant scale, and on one side were my good deeds and on the other side were my sins. Whichever side had the most weight when I died would determine whether I could go to heaven - or hell! The truth is that whoever does not receive Jesus Christ as their Savior will not receive eternal life. How do we know that? God's Word tells us:

"And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life."

(1 John 5:11-12 NIV)

If you believe God's Word, and can pray in full agreement with the following prayer, please do so now. He will receive you, dear one, and you can know that you have eternal life.

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God
so that you may know that you have eternal life."
(1 John 5:13 NIV)

"Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the only begotten Son of God, that You are fully God and fully human. I believe that You led a sinless life and that You died on the cross for the sins of the world - including mine. I believe that God the Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit, raised You from the dead and that You will come again to judge the living and the dead. I ask you to forgive me and save me so that I can be reconciled with my Heavenly Father, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and live with You forever. I receive You as the Lord of my life and the Master of my soul. In Your Name, I pray. Amen."

Please email me at if you have prayed to receive Christ as your Savior this day so that I can celebrate along with you! Love, Donna
